I watched it.this series has me hooked.I am not much into historical dramas but this one seems interesting. The characters are well put in and plot is engaging...Cha eun woo and shin se kyung are adorable and their chemistry is amazing ❤️
My First Impression of Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung: When I first read about the plot, I knew it would be worth the watch. 4 Episodes down and I can gladly tell this drama was worth all the hype.
The first episodes introduces the main character and focuses on their personalities. My feminist heart was so pleased with the female protagonist Goo Hae Ryung - played by Shin Se Kyung. She is a strong, righteous woman that will stand up in the face of injustice. Goo Hae Ryung wants to become a historical records writer but during the Joseon era, women were not allowed in the field. Through her eyes, we see the mistreatment woman faced during the era and I am hoping that in the coming episodes, they show how she helps woman get equal rights as men.
Then we are introduce to the prince Lee Rim, played by Eun Woo. He is such a sweet character, he is like a kid at heart but has a strong sense of learning and justice. He writes love novels despite not experiencing it himself. I had a blast laughing at their interaction, there are such great dynamics between the two. I can see how they will end up with each other despite the stark differences. The other characters haven't been introduced to the fullest. But like any drama, there are bouts of villainous incidents that will unravel in the future episodes. The King looks quite promising to be the bad guy in this drama. Over all it was hilarious watching it and I am in loved with Goo Hae Ryung's character. The strong sassy yet kind woman whose thirst for knowledge surpasses all.
